The device does what it should and with good quality, and that's the important thing.I am using it in Israel to bridge between a DVBT STB and a US version of Panasonic Viera HDTV. Now everything is great and I am happy with this buy. But (the big tip is bellow).I managed to set it up initially quit quickly, without recognizing that I had more luck than brains:). An electrical power interruption changed that, as settings got reset and I had to set it up again.I couldn't, and contacted Orei tech support. They were very helpful explaining how to use their poor interface (a big word for 3 buttons) to set up the device. I should mention that none of this explanation is anywhere to be found in the device literature (another big word).

They promised the next batch will be more user friendly.The issue:There are 3 buttons on. Works pretty well, all of my Genesis games look pretty good on my HD TV by using RGB to SCART cable and this SCART to HDMI converter box. I had to knock off a star from the rating, as there is a somewhat annoying issue of the picture not being centered correctly. The picture is somewhat cutoff on the right side and the left side has some empty space. I've read online that other people have the same issue with this particular product.

Might take a bit of fiddling around to get this to work the way you want it to, but once you figure it out, it works pretty well, would be nice if some of the kinks could be ironed out. Just received the Orei XD+901 converter and immediately connected our European Nintendo Wii to it and through HDMI connected it to our US television. It was extremely easy to connect and set up, absolutely no need to consult a manual. It all took roughly 2 minutes from package arrived to Nintendo Wii up running. Don't forget to have an extra HDMI cable available to connect the Orie Converter to the TV.The colors, quality and resolution is perfect.I can only recommend this product for anyone having to convert a European PAL signal to US NTSC. I found the reviews very useful in purchasing this item so I would like to leave one too.I have a lot of French devices such as the Wii, DVD player.and I live in the US for a year already and have an American Samsung TV.

I bought several converters that didn't work the way they should be despite the title of the products displayed. So I had to return them. I gave an attempt to that one and I was very happy with it.

It finally worked! And the device comes with all the cables that you need. It's very simple to use too. You just plug it in and voila! I bought this to make a Blu-Ray player work with my father-in-law's old 4:3 square television.

The television doesn't have any hdmi inputs and hdmi was the only output on the Blu-ray player. I bought this adapter and it perfectly converted hdmi to the 3 wire RCA input of red, white and yellow. Now he can watch Blu-rays and Netflix on his old television.This converter comes with a usb cable for power. You would need a usb port to power this adapter. I used an old AC charger from an old Blackberry phone I had lying around. The plug that goes into this adapter was the same so I didn't use the included usb cable but the charger instead. No problems at all.
